  • It depends on the project, but as a general rule, it costs about twice as much to replace brick with stone. Brick is a cheaper building material than stone, so replacing brick with stone will generally increase the cost of a project. However, there are some cases where it may be worth the extra expense to use stone instead of brick. For example, if the project is in an area that is prone to flooding or other inclement weather conditions, using stone instead of brick may be a wiser choice since it is more durable and less likely to be damaged during bad weather.

It can cost anywhere from $8 to $14 per square foot to replace brick with stone, depending on the type of stone used. If you're using a natural stone like granite or marble, the price will be on the higher end of the scale. If you're using a manufactured stone like cultured or veneer stone, the price will be on the lower end.
