  • There are a few things you can do to fix a ceiling fan that doesn't work. The first thing you should do is check to see if the fan is plugged in and that the light switch is turned on. If it's not plugged in or the light switch isn't turned on, then plug it in and turn on the light switch. If the fan still doesn't work, then unplug it and check to see if the blades are spinning. If the blades aren't spinning, then you might need to oil them. To oil the blades, unscrew the blade screws and put a drop of oil in each hole. Screw the screws back in and spin the blades.

One way to fix a ceiling fan that doesn't work is by checking the fuse box. If the breaker has been tripped, you can reset it by flipping the switch back to the off position and then back to the on position. If the breaker isn't tripped, you can check to see if there's power going to the fan by turning on a light in the room and seeing if it turns off. If it does, then there's something wrong with the fan itself and you'll need to replace it.
