A whole-house humidifier should be serviced at least once a year. The service technician will inspect the humidifier and replace the filter, if necessary. If you notice that the humidity level in your home is not what you expect, or if you notice any other problems with your humidifier, contact the service technician. Do not try to service the humidifier yourself. You could damage the humidifier and cause injury to yourself.
You should service a whole-house humidifier annually by draining it and cleaning the tank, coil, and fan. Make sure to also check the water line for leaks and the automatic shut-off valve for proper operation. If you have a humidifier that uses a pad or cartridge, replace it every 3 months. And if you have a bypass humidifier, clean the filter every month.
