  • There are a few things you can do to fix a pull down shade. First, make sure the shade is fully extended and that the cord is not caught somewhere. If it is caught, release it and try again. If the cord is damaged or if the shade will not extend, you will need to replace the cord or the entire shade. To replace the cord, first loosen the screws that hold the brackets to the window frame. Slide the old cord out of its bracket and replace it with a new one. Make sure that the new cord is properly threaded through all of the pulleys and then tighten the screws to hold it in place.

There are a few things that could be wrong with your pull down shade. If the cord is frayed or cut, you will need to replace it. If the cord is still in good condition, the problem might be the pulley. If the pulley is broken, you will need to replace it. If neither of these solutions works, then the spring might be broken and you will need to replace the whole shade.
