I am installing the dog fence myself. Does an electric dog fence have to be buried?

  • No, an electric dog fence does not have to be buried. You can install it above ground using a wire or you can install it below ground using a wire. The main thing to keep in mind when installing an electric dog fence is that the wire needs to be placed in a straight line and it should not be kinked. Also, make sure that the wire is buried deep enough so that it cannot be seen or touched by your dog.

No, you don't have to bury an electric dog fence. You can install it above ground using metal or plastic posts, or you can install it underground using plastic or metal conduit. You just need to make sure that the wire is buried at least 2-3 inches deep and that it's not in any contact with water.
