Should you repair or replace your air conditioner?

Last night, my air conditioner just stopped working out of nowhere. Should I go through the trouble of repairing it or should I just replace it with a newer model?

  • It depends. If your air conditioner is more than 10 years old, it's probably time to replace it. If it's less than 10 years old, you may be able to repair it. If your air conditioner needs a lot of repairs, it may be cheaper to replace it. Also, if your air conditioner is not cooling your house adequately, you should replace it.

It depends on a few factors, including how old your air conditioner is, how often it breaks down, and the cost of both repairs and replacements. Generally speaking, if your air conditioner is more than 10 years old, it's probably time to replace it. If it breaks down frequently or the cost of repairs is getting too high, then it might be smarter to just replace it altogether. But if your air conditioner is still in good shape and hasn't given you any trouble, then repairs might be a better option.
