  • There are a few ways to install landscape edging, but the most popular is to use plastic or metal lawn edging. You can usually find it at your local home improvement store. To install plastic or metal lawn edging, first measure out how much you need and cut it to size. Next, use a shovel or spade to dig a trench along the perimeter of where you want the edging to be installed. The trench should be about 2 inches deep and wide enough for the edging to fit snugly in. Put the edging in the trench and press it down so that it's level with the ground. Finally, fill in the trench around the edge with soil, making sure to pack it down.

Installation of landscape edging is a relatively easy process. You will need the following materials to complete the project: landscape edging, stakes, hammer, level, and scissors or a knife. The first step is to measure and mark the area where you will install the edging. Next, use a shovel to remove the soil from within the marked area. Be sure to remove any stones or roots that may be in the way. Once the area is cleared, use a level to make sure that the ground is even. If it is not, adjust accordingly. Next, place one end of the edging against the desired location and stake it in place using a hammer.
