  • There are a few different ways that you can hook up a solar water heater. You can either use an active or passive system. An active system uses a pump to move the water while a passive system relies on convection (the natural circulation of heat) to move the water. If you're using an active system, the pump will need to be hooked up to a power source (usually your home's electrical grid). The inlet and outlet pipes will also need to be hooked up to your plumbing. If you're using a passive system, the inlet and outlet pipes will need to be placed in direct sunlight so that they can absorb the heat from the sun.

There are a few different ways that you can hook up a solar water heater, depending on the type of system you are using. Generally, you will need to install a solar collector on your roof (or in some other sunny spot), connect it to a storage tank, and then connect the tank to your home's plumbing. If you are using a passive system, the collector will be connected directly to the tank. With an active system, there will usually be a pump involved that circulates water between the collector and the tank.
