  • If your swamp cooler has stopped blowing cold air, the problem is most likely a dirty filter. To clean it, remove the front cover and gently tap the filter against your trash can to dislodge the dirt and dust. Be sure to wear gloves so you don't get your hands dirty. If the inside of your swamp cooler is dirty, use a wet vacuum or a garden hose with a spray nozzle to clean it. Be sure to let the unit dry completely before putting the cover back on and turning it back on.

swamp coolers Swamp coolers, also known as evaporative coolers, work by drawing hot air into the unit and then cooling it by passing it through a wet pad. The water in the pad evaporates, which absorbs heat from the air and reduces its temperature. To service a swamp cooler, you'll need to clean the filter and pads and replace the water. You can find detailed instructions for how to do this in your owner's manual.
