  • It depends on the size of your dock and the materials you use. Generally speaking, you can expect to spend between $10 and $20 per square foot for a wooden dock, or between $5 and $10 per square foot for a floating dock.If you're not handy with tools or don't want to do the work yourself, you can enlist the help of a professional contractor who will charge anywhere from $35 to $60 per hour. So if we assume an average cost of $50 per hour, it would take about 10 hours to build a 10' x 10' wooden dock, or about 5 hours to build a 10' x 10' floating dock.

It depends on the size and complexity of the dock. A very small, simple dock might be built for as little as a few hundred dollars, while a larger, more complex dock could cost tens of thousands of dollars. Factors that will affect the cost include the size and weight capacity of the dock, the materials used in construction, and any special features or amenities that are included. One thing to keep in mind is that unless you are an experienced contractor or carpenter, it is likely to be cheaper and simpler to hire a professional to build your dock than to try to do it yourself.
